Learning Communities (LCs) are designed specifically for incoming freshmen at KU. Each LC is typically composed of a group of 20 students who are co-enrolled in a seminar course and two core courses that focus on a particular theme. These courses can be used to fulfill requirements of majors and most professional schools. This program begins the moment students arrive to campus for the fall semester.
LC Students
- participate in study groups;
- attend out-of-class functions with their professors;
- engage in discussions related to the academic theme;
- are provided supplemental programming that assists in learning;
- are connected to a peer educator that helps students find resources to improve academic success.
