Faculty and Staff
Our Services
The AAAC serves as the home for Disability Resources Faculty/Staff at KU. Oftentimes, faculty and staff will find themselves working with Disability Resources to provide and coordinate student accommodations. In this regard, the AAAC will contact and work with faculty/staff in order to provide proper accommodation for students at KU.
Tutoring Services
The AAAC also provides students with Tutoring Services at KU. Students may request a tutor in disciplines that include Math, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, French, Spanish, and Italian. Other courses may be offered based on student demand and the availability of tutors. Faculty and staff may contact Tutoring Services about working together in adding a course if one is not currently being offered. This program provides small group, course specific tutoring and the groups meet twice a week for one-and-a-half hours each session. Tutors go through a rigorous application process and two references are required.
Workshops
Another resource offered by the AAAC is the ability to provide workshops for individual classes; these workshops cover a multitude of topics, ranging from study skills to goal setting. AAAC staff present these workshops, and they can serve as a helpful resource for many classes at KU, particularly the PRE 101 classes.
Individual Consultations
Finally, the AAAC offers individual consultations for KU students who are struggling with academic success. Individual consultations focus on skill development in the areas of time management, study skills, test taking strategies, and more.
