Hello and welcome to Disability Resources! My name is Arika Sprecker. I work primarily with students who have learning disabilities and/or ADHD. I also coordinate our testing program and am an adjunct academic advisor. Whether you are a current or prospective student, I am happy to answer questions and help you make the most of your KU experience.
Before coming to KU, I spent five years working for Vocational Rehabilitation. As a VR counselor, I helped adults with disabilities identify and pursue their employment goals. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida Southern College and a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Florida.
On a personal note, I have a 2 year old son who keeps me on my toes and takes up most of my spare time. I'm also an avid cyclist and a huge sports fan. I ride regularly in Lawrence and love to travel with my bike. (My favorite trip has been a week of riding through the Black Hills of South Dakota). I love Chicago Cubs baseball, Florida Gator football and any and all things Jayhawk!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about Disability Resources at KU.
